File Encryption/Password Protection

So I log my AIM conversations to a certain directory...is there any way to have the folder they're written to password protected/encrypted so that people can't just view all of my logs? I share my computer with a few people, and don't want them snooping around.

I know Windows XP has the built in compressed folder/encryption tool, but this help me because it only works for files that I manually add to the folder...and then if more files are added, you have to unencrypt all of them and then encrypt them all together.

So I was wondering if there's any way to make it so that the folder and all of it's contents are automatically encrypted OR password protected.

If you setup accounts for each user you can restrict access to your documents. That way only when you are logged in can someone access that folder.
