Hi, I have this really odd error with the CRC numbers of all my files and transfer corruptions.
When I first start up my computer, all my files on my hard drives are fine and all file transfers are fine. But after a certain amount of time (this time seems to vary), all my files suddenly don't have the same CRC values anymore, and all file transfers become corrupted. Once I restart my computer, all the CRC values will check out fine again, until the process repeats itself after a period of time.
Now I'm almost certain that this problem is due to the new stick of RAM I put in my computer, seeing how I never had this problem previously, and don't have this problem once I remove the RAM in question. My question is, can anyone explain why this problem is happening, and if there is anything I can do to fix it? I'm very curious as to whether this is actually a problem with my RAM or some other components have a conflict with the RAM.
Here are some hardware specs that might be helpful to you guys, just post if you need more information:
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X Deluxe
RAM1 (working): 256MB Mushkin PC2700 (DDR333) RAM
RAM2 (faulty): 256 MB Samsung PC2700 (DDR333) RAM
CPU: Athlon XP 2000+ (running at 1.24ghz due to problems when running at factory clcok speed)
Hard Drives: 1 Maxtor 15GB HD, 1 Maxtor 120GB HD, 2 Western Digital 120GB HD, 1 Seagate 200GB HD
Thanks for the help guys
