I have noticed that randomly a file with the name "~" will appear on my desktop. Does anyone know what this possibly could be from... it is getting annoying.
Sometimes programs (i.e. MS Word, etc) will create "temp" files when you open or create files. Are you editing word files or something that are located on the desktop? Because when you open the file, you'll see the temp file create itself. It should delete itself automatically when you close the file.
if it's not, sometimes kazaa puts stuff like that...it's something to do w/ spyware....first get lavasoft's adaware..then get the refupdate for adaware..it updates for the latest spyware out there in the internet..so keep urself updated for the lastest ones.. adaware download
if taht doesn't get rid of it, then you might have a virus..do a virus scan....or buy norton's antivirus....
It wouldn't be spyware, because this computer has been recently formatted and I do not have Kazaa on it. I have pinned it down to what I believe is causing it. When I check my mail using Outlook Express 6.0 and then close Outlook Express the file immediately appears on the desktop.
lemme guess...... blabhablah.eml?! ahhh!! reboot your router! those virusses are just plain annoying...i forgot the true name of it..but they just stuff any file and put it as a .eml file...it's really annoying...try looking for it elsewhere on your comp....it's from the memory of your router
