file allocation table bad, drive %1

Hi, ive been in the process of screwing up my computer lately and this is my latest accomplishment.

I get this error "file allocation table bad, drive %1" every time I try and boot up my computer, and I'm not sure what to do to get rid of it. It tried undoing the changes I had made that got it here but so far no luck.

While I dont have access to windows or anything but the dos prompt, I can load my hdd up as a secondary hd on my other computer in order to fix any files.

Any help is appreciated! thx

In the past with W98 and WME I have used Norton Utilities and Norton Systemworks from boot device ( CD or floppy ) and then use its disk utility correct problem.
