File Access Inside Broken Windows XP Mode

A Windows update, or perhaps an Avast Antvirus update have killed by XP Mode.
My last XP Mode backup was over a week ago.

Is there any way to access files inside XP Mode, before I uninstall and reinstall?

Files should still be there after a repair install, or are you saying the virtual FS is fubar?
