Hi,

I am installing a raid setup. I have 2 20gb HD's. In addition to that I will be installing another 15gb HD I have lying around. I'm assuming that I should install the OS on the RAIDed HD's right? I just want to make sure. Thanks.

what you create your array, it should show that its raided when you boot up

if you fdisk your array, you can partition it just like one big hard drive

but to answer your question, yes you do what the os on the raided hd for the speed

i don't think there is a rule, but i'd put the os/programs on the fastest drive, which would be the RAID0 array you're setting up.

i might be an idiot but i believe that the raid hard drive working correctly makes one partition

yeah I know that raid partition would appear as one drive. the question is whether to install on the raided drives or the extra 15gigger. But I've got my answer so thanks all.
