I recently picked up a new linux box and I'm not using the on board video on my MS-6533G.. the console video looks like it has such a horrible refresh rate.. it's almost painful to look at. I didn't have this problem using some old video card in my old system.. Anyone know an easy way to fix it? I've been trying all the different video modes but I can't get past the hideous refresh rate.

I am not a linux guru, but I would say look at your /etc/X11/XFree86Config file. This file is the one that has the settings for your video display. I would say edit the file and put in there some higher refresh rates.

I hope this helps,
