"Fight" it? I dunno about that. But there may be ways to reduce the fine. 95?! Sheesh.

He might be able to take drivers ed if it's his first ticket so it won't go on his record (don't know if he can for 30 over) Like already stated - he's a dumbass for doing 30 over

Maybe... be responsible and try to take care of it on his own? He has an option of driving school, a lawyer, pleading innocent or pleading guilty. Get a lawyer.

I got caught doing 98 in a 65 once and traffic school wasn't an option for me (going more than 25 over automatically disqualifies you in Texas). I doubt he can fight it and win, but he may be able to get deferred adjudication (if that's an option where he lives). Basically, you pay the fine, and then not get any tickets for one year; sometimes they'll tack on traffic school also. If you do all of those things, then the ticket will be dismissed. You're still out of the $$$ in the amount of the fine, but at least it doesn't go on your record and your insurance company doesn't find out about it.

Then again, he can always take it to court and hope that the officer doesn't show up. A few of my friends have gotten out of a ticket this way, but if the cop shows up, then you're screwed.

Dude seriously lay off my friend. I think he know it's pretty bad that he get into this mess. You guys arent helping by saying he is dumbass. It's kinda like a kid touch the burning hot stove and got burnt. Do you tell him that he is a dumbass for doing that? Will solve anything? No. He will learn it on his own. What you can do at that point is make the situation lighter.
If u arent offering any real solution, do not post and call my friend dumb or me :). Thx

Here is the whole story. The rate of traffic was around that speed. It was around midnight. There were alot of trucks swerving in and out of lanes. Plus, he sped up for few second.

Then say fvcking you instead of u. Are we third graders here? I can't take somone seriously who butchers the English language. No one is really making that much fun of him. I have had six tickets in my life. He has very little recourse than what I mentioned. Tell him to suck it up and try to deal with it. You can get a lawyer, get driving school, or try to fight it by yourself. I advise him on getting a lawyer, or trying to get driving school. Stop being a bitch and take care of business. If you are going to drive fast, prepare to pay the price. Every action has a reaction.

Thx you captain obvious. I can use whatever choice of word I want. No need to tell me what to do. U know what. It was really a bad idea to start this thread. I expected people to help my friend out and offer advice where to go from here, but I only see people call my friend stupid or try to call me a third grader because I dont use the word F###.

What did you expect? Act and talk like a moron, and typically you will get treated like one. I still can't believe in this day and age people don't know what to do when they get a ticket.

Where the truckers tailgating him? If yes then get a lawyer and have lawyer look up laws on what he can do in this situation. I know for sure that in California if someone sits on your bumper and you can't really change lanes you can basically press the medal to the pedal until his lights disappear and then bring it back to speed limit. One thing for sure he should fight the ticket, but how to fight it is a big question, get a lawyer other wise he pretty much has no chance of winning.

Ah hah! I caught you. Now, go understand what exactly six tickets in one jurisdiction means. Figure it out and get back to me. Never fool around with a cop's daughter and let him find out. You can say what you want, but I maintain that you should check my sig, and see that it is very applicable to you.

Hey, I don't really care. All six were within a 9 month span. I haven't had one since I was 17. I have my excuse, now what is your excuse for being a moron?

Fighting traffic sucks. Specially when they get you. I don't see why you got the ticket. The ones with the bats and chains should get it for once.

Yeah. I don't really care. I'm closing this thread for now, because, like I already said, I just don't care.

What the hell is wrong with people. If you're that blatent about breaking the law, have the bloody balls to own up to it. I'm all up for his fine being reduced, but fight it? What a gutless punk. My 1st ticket ever was a 120+ in a 65 at 4 am when no one was on the road, he wrote me down for 80 and like a good little boy I went to traffic school and delt with it.

so you decided to be good little boy and not fight it, his friend is looking at his option which includes fighting it, which i see nothing wrong with as it's his constitutional right

presumptious of you to think that we care enough about about your life to know that all 6 tickets were in the same jurisdiction. since you give me so much credit for being clairvoyant, id guess to say that you'll die a lonely, lonely boy. enjoy your life, troll.

You don't fight something when you did something so blatently wrong. That's the point. He can try and fight it and he won't win. A more logical and smart response would've been how does he lower the fine, and try to convince the judge to let him goto traffic school (in case his speed was too high for that). The cop did me a favor and wrote it low enough I could get the point off my record. Honestly if he does try to outright fight it the *only* way he'd win is if there was some technicality. Otherwise he's wasting everyone's time and money... and hasn't learnt his lesson.
