I came across some money (working OT at work) and am fighting the upgrade bug. I'm going to hold out until the HD 7 series, but for now, I will try OCing my 5870 2GB haha.

However, that urge to buy something won't go away from a few sliders on Afterburner, so trying to find a problem to throw money at - my temps are a bit high for my liking. Stock on games like Crysis 2 max settings I'm hovering around 80c (which I'm sure that is normal.) But, read the previous.

Anyways, are there any after market cooling kits I can look into for the 5870 2GB? I haven't changed a GPU heatsink since my 4850 and back then it seemed searching Newegg was easy.

I'd take any recommendations at this point - just so I can browse and stuff. Thanks.

80*C is perfectly fine for the 5870 series. If you still want to consider an aftermarket cooler that perhaps you can carry over to the HD7000 series, I'd look into:

1) Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus - $64
2) Thermalright Shaman - $74

Although if you are going to spend $70 on cooling, you might as well sell your 5870 and grab an HD6950 2GB and unlock it into a 6970. That will net you about a 16% performance boost. If you have $$ to burn, I would probably consider that instead of upgrading the cooler and overclocking your current card.

If it helps, I am using a Phenom II X2 @3.2 (stock) with a 4850 (512MB)(stock) and also fighting the upgrade bug. I was going to do it this fall, but I want to see what bulldozer/Intel have coming out this summer, and whether AMD brings out the 7XXX series this summer.

I usually build a generation behind, but bulldozer and a 7XXX may be a tempting combo!
