My Durango(purchased new in Jan. 2000) has had an engine problem since
it was brand new. I took it
to Quinn(where I bought it) and they refused to believe there was a
problem and more or less told me I was hearing things. When it was 5
months old I took it in because the problem was getting worse, they
refused to believe the problem was what I told them it was(a loose piston pin), they
insisted it was something different and replaced a few parts, problem
still occurred but they had me convinced the noise was "normal on
startup." I let it go at that until about 3 weeks ago when the noise
started getting louder and louder, took it to Quinn, they told me I
was hearing things, I told them they were idiots and to get new
hearing aids, they finally heard the noise but couldn't tell what it
was. They had me come get the Durango until they could get me a rental
car. I took it back in this morning, they tore down the engine and
found that the problem was being caused by what I said it was over a
year ago, the problem had gone on for so long that the engine block is
now scarred in at least two cylinders and is thus not able to be
repaired. In order to fix it they want to put an remanufactured engine
in it, I told them no way in hell are they putting anything besides a
new engine in it, thus the fight began. I've been on the phone with
their national "Customer One" number and the woman on there tried to
give me the run around, told me there were no new engines available
anywhere in the Chrysler inventory, and that it wasn't up to me to
decide how my car got fixed, that the customer had "no option
concerning the repair of the vehicle", I tried to talk to her boss and
she flat out refused. I tried getting a number for a district manager
and she refused to give me that as well. I finally told her I was
tired of talking to her and hung up. Called Quinn and have been trying
to get the district manager's number from them but they are yet to
return my calls.
Fun huh? I'm giving them until the end of business tomorrow before I
start making life rough for them.
I swear ever since Daimler bought out Chrysler their quality and service have gone straight to hell.
Anyone else ever had problems dealing with their customer service?
