I was just reading through this spam/botnet breakdown and started wondering... why can't law enforcement catch the companies who hire spammers to send spam on their behalf?
Couldn't they use a federal credit card to purchase one of the products being advertised and trace where the money goes?
I would think cracking down on the spammer's customers would be a good way to bankrupt the spammers themselves.
