First impulse is to vote for MMA guy, as he can strike/kick. But 169 is small. I'm betting he can't hurt the sumo and the sumo eventually pins and flattens MMA guy, may he RIP.

OMFG!!!

Can't believe the amount of viable kiting involved. Large man is way too slow. A 400-500 pound guy is likely a better choice.

I voted for the wrong one. I had my hoped up when he grabbed him... but then the guy couldn't move or get off the ground. He had NO stamina. He's not healthy.

They did a similar fight in one of the VERY early UFC's, IIRC it turned out the same way.

Edit: Beat me to it LevelSea.

Jesus that was boring. Most of it, at least. All I could hear in my head was the fat guy stumbling around going GET IN MAH BELLAH while the other guy tried to avoid grappling with him.

Did that dude have any training outside of sumo? He didn't seem to know what to do once he 'dodged' that takedown by being a fat bastard.

I was starting to think his skull was invincible. Bareknuckle blows from an MMA fighter are gonna be fuckin' brutal. Then he finally caved...I was thinking the little dude was about to go for an armbar or something, anyway.

Also, the '...hey, goddammit, that's my knee!' face was priceless. That was smart...I'm gonna guess that knees that have to hold that dude up are pretty shot to shit.

per wikipedia:

"Young low-ranking sumo wrestlers at the Tomozuna Stable in Tokyo end their daily workout routine with a footwork drill."

Is he really a sumo wrestler? I actually would think a real sumo wrestler could move much better than that.

A heavily deconditioned ex-sumo wrestler, by the looks of it. Thought he might die of a heart attack in there.

Definitely not a top sumo wrestler. Way too unconditioned.

A real sumo wrestler would eat that guy for breakfast.

I bet sumo, that guy is too huge to have his ass kicked by a guy who weighs less than me.

Yeah, i've been watching sumo recently on youtube and sumo wrestlers, even gigantic ones, are surprisingly fast. This guy is slow as hell.

that "sumo" doesnt look like he has any training in fighting at all. this was just a gonzo fight between a small dude in shepe vs. a really fat dude. the fat dude could hardly even walk, he was sweating like a pig just chasing the little dude. he couldnt even defend himself against repeated head punches

Sumo wrestlers dont do that well in MMA. They aren't conditioned to take strikes. Even when they get a hold of someone, they dont usually know what to do. In general, one dimensional fighters, now matter how good they are in their martial art, get their asses kicked in MMA.

Sumo has a very limited, but effective form of ate-waza. They are also permitted to kick the ankles in some comps. Their open hand strikes are deceptively powerful too.

There are very few high level competitors with sumo training. But Machida trained it, and uses it well for take down defense.
