Looks like they're driving the R8 next week! Neat!

Again? They already drove the R8...

They are comparing it the Porsche 911 this time.

I always wondered why would porsche basically compete with itself?

Well, sorta I guess.

Porsche owns a stake in VW. Porsche and VW have mutual family history.

Porsche ows 30+% of vw and is talking to lenders to see if it can do a takeover.

The 911 and R8 are being compared to each other nonstop and both are in the "everyday supercar" category shared by... nothing else in the price range until the Blue Devil corvette comes out.

I find it very interesting they would test a audi s5 vs BMWs 335i instead of the new M3 which is probably closer to the price of the S5
but still the 335i beats it around the track 🙂

my guess is the S5 is heavier and that extra weight accounted for a significant difference.

i'd still take the S5, but that's just me 😛

The current RS4 is the M3's competitor. It has beaten the new M3 in several reviews.

Realistic E90/2 M3 prices will hover around $60-65K+ in my opinion...

The S5 does have a hefty price tag though...

From Edmunds: http://www.edmunds.com/insidel...Tests/articleId=121924

2008 Audi S5 2dr Coupe
MSRP of Test Vehicle: $62,000

The Veyron factory is cool. However the host of the Fifth Gear show or the reviewer in general seems very boring and dull. I'll probably pick and choose the episodes that I want to see.

I'll bet that Joe Smuck off the street would have wrecked that poor 335i if they tried to drive it like that 🙂

how is her 335i so much slower 0-65 than everyone else's? she's doing 5.6s. did bmw realize they were putting 350ish hp in it and detune it?

BMW always publishes conservative 0-62 times, perhaps thats the case.

It is. Fifth Gear uses manufacturer times. They don't actually time their 0-60 dashes...
