So anything more you can tell us about Warner or football politics in T&T?
Two words, cluster fuck.
Jack Warner wasn't seen as a man on the straight and narrow, he was known to be corrupt but you just couldn't pin anything on him. He joined the UNC political party and with the help of a coalition with about 4 other political parties where they called themselves the People's Partnership (PP) they won the general election in 2010.
He has served as the Minister of Transport and as the Minister of National Security before he was fired when the last FIFA scandal hit, and this video surfaced
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDoa7XKFpbM. He went on to create his own political party, the Independent Liberation Party (ILP).
Make no mistake, the world eyes might be on Trinidad and Tobago now. Out reputation may get tarnished, but if that means we can rid of corruption from the government come down, then I don't care.
Businessmen's pockets has been lined with tax payers money for decades. The claims by the BBC that a supermarket chain got almost 5 million from Jack Warner aren't shocking to me.
I'll say this, as a citizen the crime here doesn't scare me, my government does, because I'm afraid of what the future holds. :'(
