Fifa 07 and 8800GTX

Anyone with Fifa 07 having strange lag issues during certain moments like stadium views and parts of the menu? I am using a 8800GTX, so I don't know what the issue is.
 
If you force AA through the CP, you get massive stutters during cutscenes.

The menus are totally crap. Those oh-so-complex screens of scrolling text performed badly on my both my old rig (P4 3.0GHz, 6800NU) and my new one (C2D E6600, 8800GTX).

Yeah. I still have nightmares about one PC FIFA game that doesn't let you head the ball unless an AI player is going for it too. Pretty stupid.

To be fair, though, FIFA 07 is the first title in years that actually moves the series forward.
 
Do the players still look like they are wax mannequins?

I still enjoy playing FIFA 2005 on my PC. Played FIFA 06 on a friend's system and didn't like it - they totally jacked the dead-ball control system and made it un-fun. No idea how 07 is.
 
Hmmm... I was forcing FSAA. I am going to try without this time.

Just got this baby a couple of days ago, but hadn't had time to mess with it till last night. Dark Messiah that came with the card is pretty amazing looking. The HL2 engine at its best. 😀
 
Also yea, EA sucks ass.

And why am I playing Fifa on the PC? Because I like the way it looks. 😀

Well I used to till I was forced to play without FSAA.
 
Well I stopped the FSAA and even the filtering and still same issues. So then I lowered resolution to 800x600 with low detail just to check, and still the same issues.

I am using the infamous new drivers from NVIDIA's website, which could be the problem?
 
EA sucks and any sport game they make for PC sucks (not that the console versions are any better...)

stick to W11/PES for both PC and console.


BTW i had the same issue when running customized settings from the CP. this was on 7900 GTX SLI. best is to leave everything default in the CP.
 
umm im actually playing PES6 on PC right now, so I dunno what your talking about...

and you can also get Winning Eleven 9, but PES6 is better.

Odd. I'm playing at 1600x1200, high detail and 16xAF with the 97.02 driver. Ran flawlessly, but stutters a little when there's text on screen.

It's probably an issue with the CP. Did you just delete the FIFA 07 profile? I tried deleting it straight away at first but somehow the settings (AA and AF) remained applied. Had to change everything to Application Controlled before deleting the profile.
