My problem lies with the dealerships. The first one jerked us around because, I can only assume, we didn't buy it from them (our local dealer). The second one, which we purchased it from, is dodging us now. They insist that while they think it's a problem, they don't have ANYTHING on the lot to compare it to. and they can't touch it till they can compare them.

I could hear the turbo whistle from my bedroom, in the back of the house with the windows closed.

Oh, and whatever you do, don't complain directly about poor mileage. They'll back peddle immediately and insist that Ford won't let them "investigate" until you have more than 10k miles. Even in our case where we were getting much better mileage before the turbo got noisy, they won't discuss the mileage issue.

Now I'm a Ford guy through and through, with the exception of my current 2007 Ram, i've only ever had Fords. And a lot of them. But I think I'm done buying new Fords with how we are being treated. Not to mention the apparent ineptness of their "techs" when something does go wrong.

+1. My dad's f150 is ecoboost. Been in the shop alot. While I applaud ford for going turbo I wouldn't spend my own money on any turbo mill they are currently producing.

My explorer sport is an ecoboost with close to 38k on the odometer. Never been in the shop except to change oil and rotate tires and normal maintenance (under company plan). It's a rock solid platform that performs well, has gobs of power, and still gets decent mileage for an SUV.

Good to hear and the new explorers are good looking rides. I hope ford has the issues worked out. Both the vehicles in my driveway are fords and really hope to stick with them.

I still won't be buying any 2011-2013 eb fords though.....just in case. Every car maker can hit a rough patch.
