I am looking to buy this board for my socket a processor and am just wondering what everyone thinks. Is this a quality board? It seems it has all the features i want...
as long as you don't want to overclock. personally i would go the asus abit or msi route but hey thats just me. check the anandtech review of it as well.
To answer your question, I used that board for my gf's computer and everything has ben fine for the past 6 months, although you cant overclock with it. I would definitely recomment getting an msi k7t2 or asus a7v.
FIC in the past, to me, is associated with mediocre electronics, Cheap stuff.
They need to improve their reputation with some solid products. I bought a FIC mobo about 4 years ago and was very disappointed. I now buy ASUS and ABIT, even when they are more expensive.
If you want to go with something inexpensive and have no plans to overclock, then I would take the ECS K7VZA over the FIC. The ECS has gotten great reviews for stability and performance. The K7VZA can be had for about $80. If you think at some point you might want to overclock, then it's best pay a little extra to get an overclocker's board NOW.
