I built two computers, identical to each other. Only difference, one was running
Windows 98, and the other Windows XP. Exact same case, exact same mobo/memory/video card and such. One I had built for my mother in law. The other for my wife. I got my wife a laptop so she didnt need this PC anymore, so I sold it to a friend. The AU11 died in that one, caps blown. My m.i.l was no longer using the computer I built for her. ITs hard to build a computer that will run Windows 98 with todays components, and she was insistant on a Windows 98 machine and wanted one that was faster. She kept having SW related problems with it and gave up on it. So I popped out the drive from my friends PC, plugged it into the m.i.l's comptuer and gave that to my friend. No more than a month after she had it, the exact same thing happened. Blow caps, same caps blew both times...

My wife used this computer for about 1.5 years, and m.i.l used it for about a year, with no problems like this. I was thinking possibly a power supply issue, but since it was two separate machines, how likey is that? OR I am thinking that she may be using a bad power strip to plug into. I dont want to drop the money to fix this, and just have, 2 months down the road again, the same thing to happen, any ideas that you might be able think of that could be cuasing this, would be appriciated.

Thanks again.
