I bought that AN11 combo w/ XP1700 and i can't do jack w/ it 'cuz when i boot up it says Ultra100 bios not loaded because no drives are attached or something like that. I can't find anywhere in the bios to disable the onboard promise controller. I have it hooked up to a brand new 60 gig maxtor. I'd appreciate if someone knows a solution to this. I looked all over the manual and websites but nothing. thanks.
 
Move your hardrive cable to one of the regular non-raid ide controllers temporarily, and reboot. Then load your operating system (if needed) and the raid driver, which should be on a floppy diskette. Then, you can run your hardrive on the raid ide controller. Your raid controllers may not recognize your cd or dvd players, so use them only for the hardrive.
 
i have that problem too. loaded up the drivers for the Mass Controller something and its still not detecting anything. Ultra100 bios sets up the ata100 right?? (sorry kinda a newbie here). ill try what 1die says, thanks
