FIC 503+ / K6III+ 450@550....everything is ok now

Bios version je4330 now installed, and everything is cool.

I noticed on the FIC site that the JE 438 BIOS upgrade has the comment that the higher processors require a sticker on the MOBO to comply:
JE438 4/6/00 1.2A

support AMD K6-2 550Mhz CPU
Notes
ONLY the Motherboard with certified sticker can support AMD CPU up to K6(2)-550 or K6(3)-500

Could this be your case? Check to see if you have the sticker.

I've got the E-0037 sticker, but their website say's the K6III+ series is not supported, only the K6III (no plus). Hmm, did'nt notice that 3 months ago, I guess I should have visited their website more often:disgust:
So it's off to the for sale/trade I go.

Hmm... after searching FIC's faq's and looking at AMD Zone, it appears there is an "unofficial bios" to allow the 503+ to run a mobile cpu. I might get this to work after all.

Killrose, gotta flash to JE4330 bios to use the K6-3+.
