Hey,

WinME won't enable PCI to ISA Bridge. Winme claims there are 2 of them ( ISAPNP.VXD)

Anyone have this problem??

You know, interestingly enough I have that exact board running in my kid's computer and I put WinMe on it without too many problems. I had to get updated drivers for a couple of things (mouse and sound card I think) but otherwise a pretty seamless transfer.

I think I remember having that same issue when I installed WinME on my old 503+ for my parents. However, I can't remember if I resolved the issue, if it just went away, or if it still is coming up. I probably just deleted one or both of the devices and had WinME redetect and install them.

In any event, I don't think it is a big problem.

Easy fix.
Get the correct Bios for ME.

From the FIC 503+ FAQ "duh"
<<"A: FIC Taiwan has updated 2 BIOS compliant to Windows ME, one each for PA-2013 and VA-503+. They are JI4331 and JE4331, and both will fix the PCI to ISA Bridge caution mark under device manager.">>

Ji4331 bios ftp.fic.com.tw/bios/motherboards/socket7/pa-2013/Ji4331.zip
Je4331 Bios ftp.fic.com.tw/bios/motherboards/socket7/va-503+/Je4331.zip

I've also run WinMe on a system with a 503+ mobo and didn't have any problems. (Well, other than the fact that WinMe just sucks in general.)

If you decide to flash the bios, get the JE4333 flash.

Also, the VIA 4in1432 drivers couldn't hurt.

RobsTV--The current/latest BIOS for the 503+ seems to be the JE439. With this BIOS I remember getting the issue Jumpman talked about. Can you link to the FAQ that describes this issue??

The latest bios flash for the 503+ is JE4333 (dated 01/11/01), give me a few and I'll find the link for it.

FIC VA503+ bios flash version JE4333

I would imagine that a newer flash would incorporate everything that the earlier ones did and add more recent improvements. Or am I wrong?
