Hello all, I got my fibre channel drive going. The problem is I can only get 2 of them working. All three fibre drives showed up in the device manager, but there is only 2 fibre channel hard drive showed up in computer management. Does anyone know why? How can I get all of them to work?

I have a family member that works at a Lockheed-Plant that deals with Fibre Channel all the time lately. Granted I think they're doing more of it in linux and none of it in Windows. Same with FDDI, they're using that as well for the Navy's subs.

For those that were curious, they're using Red Hat Linux (obviously not personal editions tho) for their Submarines and FDDI for the network and I can only assume they're using Fibre Channel as well (don't know why else he would mention it). However he might be able to give you some help too because he has a LOT of experience with it. I will let you know tomorrow--er, well, later today--what he says. :)

Well i'm sorry to say but you're S.O.L from me :(. I showed him your post, and he definitely recognized both. He has written linux drivers for those Q-Logic boards too (he said so) and for HP-UX but he hasn't dealt with Fibre Channel for Windows, so he said he couldn't really tell ya what is up with it. If it was linux, I'm sure you would have your problem solved by now ;) I would know!

In case you're wondering, he recognized that qla because they are using a variant of it for systems to be installed into Navy submarines...I think it is a higher model. He said he could ask some of the guys at work and see if they know, but maybe someone else like KristopherKubicki will beat me to it :D.

Edit: I forgot to mention that he said you don't really have to provide more details. He said fibre channel isn't really hard/complicated to install and troubleshoot (and he's solved quite a few problems with it over this year) and that you provided enough information for someone to start thinking about what might be wrong. Just thought you'd want to know that.
