Never had Japanese malt, but I know it has a good reputation. Fun fact... They used to use Scottish malt, and not disclose it on the label. Short of native product, or insecurity? Shady as hell in any case.

There are Japanese single malts, and there are Japanese blends - and yes, the blends may be blended with Scotch.
