The cutscenes are going to be the worst ever in a FF game.

The combat and overworld(?) looked good, enemies look great and I'm turning off the music.

The cutscenes are going to be the worst ever?! Huh???? Sorry they looked pretty darn good to me and frankly from the story that they're trying to convey it definitely looks interesting. Personally I like the music, Square typically fits good music in with the Final Fantasy series so I'm not quite sure what you're expecting in it. Hard rock?

Overall it looks like a pretty good addition to the Final Fantasy line of games and I look forward to its US release sometime next year.

It looks like The Spirits Within with actors who couldn't get a part in an Uwe Boll production. This game is going to have a painful story to get through.

The music isn't not really all that bad and I won't actually turn it off, but except for the theme song what I have heard is pretty forgettable compared to FFXII. (That doesn't mean I like XIII's theme song either.) No I don't expect rock...but then again why not? There's no game a heavy dose of Meguro can't fix. Obviously that's not the kind of thing Square would ever do, but it would be nice if they could mix up their style once every decade or so.

People either will love or hate Final Fantasy style cutscenes, and that is all there is to it. To me the cutscenes look great.

Cutscene animation looked decent enough but the voice acting sounded terrible. None of the story points seemed very compelling and none of the characters seemed interesting, but it's just a trailer so hopefully the game will be better.

The battle when the Denzel Washington-looking character jumped into a car and attacked an enemy with the flames coming out the back definitely turned me off though.

From what I've seen the cutscenes are a visual treat. Now if they didn't have that freaking high school drama.

And the entire vehicle/summon thing just seems stupid.

Ya I was kinda  when the dude summoned a transformer and ran doughnuts around some enemies.

I say this will be a great game:
> Seeing that story was the most important thing of the trailer this is a plus (much better than 12)
> Voice over seems pretty good
> Graphics are damn good
> I really can't tell what the combat is like (is it 12ish or pre-12?). At first i hated 12 battle, but after a couple of hours it grew on me and i Applaud Square(Enix/Soft what ever they are calling themselves these days :p) for trying something new for diehard genre.
> Most likely might get me to buy a PS3

hahaha! i was just thinking that when watching the video. Why did they go to this more sci-fi type of setting? It was probably around FF3, right?

I just want to see the battle system in action. I hated the battle system in 12. I quit after about 5 hours. I won't be playing this one if it's something similar. I guess I'm old school, since I enjoy turn based "enemies on the left, good guys on the right" battles.

I believe it really started changing after FF6.... FF7 had a bit more of a sci-fi aspect to it, but it was still toned down a bit. FF8 took it up a notch though and then they pushed it back with FF9, but I guess they didn't like that direction... although I think FFXI was a bit fantasy-ish.

Heck, they could just remake FFVI in purdy 3D and I'd buy it.

I said FF3 because isn't that the one where the opening had the characters riding mechanized walkers or something? It was mostly fantasy-ish if I remember correctly, but still had that sort of sci-fi element to some of it.

What you're calling FF3 and what he's calling FF6 are the same game. It has a steampunk theme.

Kidding, right? The cutscenes look better than both FF movies, AND the RE:Degeneration movie.

This is the first FF game I've looked forward to since FFVII.

Edit: To answer the OP's question, I've already forgotten the theme song =\
