Hmm, let's see...
Tidus wasn't "real", and Auron was already dead. Sin is Tidus' father, and whoever kills Sin has to become Sin. That's the final summon they're talking about. Girl (I can't remember her name) was going to become Sin.
That's a bad explaination. It wasn't a very memorable game.
****Spoilers for FFX******
After Seymour, Tidus has a flashback to Zanarkand where the Bahamut fayth tells him that he's a dream of the fayth and that if they die, he will die too.
When you get to Zanarkand, you learn from Yunalesca (the final summon) will cause the summoner to die. Also, the final summon is actually created from one of the the summoner's guardians, thus the guardian is also sacrificed. Eventually, the guardian will turn into the next Sin, so the cycle is repeated over and over and that's why there has never been an eternal calm. Tidus says this is unacceptable and doesn't allow Yuna to sacrifice herself, so the entire party fights and kills Yunalesca, thus "killing" the final summon along with her. I believe you also learn that Auron is unsent at this point.
I think you already know Sin is Jecht at this point so when u leave Zanarkand, Tidus tells his father to wait and that they'll take care of him soon (or something like that anyway). Also, they party realizes that Sin is attracted to the Hymn of the Fayth.
At some point while in the airship, you go to fight Sin and you blow a hole into him. You then enter his body and fight a bunch of enemies (including Seymour again) and then fight more and eventually get to Jecht. Once you kill Jecht, you have to kill Yu Yevon. Yu Yevon looks like some weird spider/bug thingy. At this point, you have to summon all of your aeons and kill them. Once there are no more aeons, you must fight and kill Yu Yevon (it's really easy and you can't die).
When you kill Yu Yevon, Auron allows himself to be sent along with everything else that's dying. He has this scene where u get to look through his eyes and he acknowledges all of the guardians. He is then gone.
You then end up on the deck of the airship and you watch as sin and all the aeons are being sent and disappear. Eventually, Tidus begins to fade (he says before you fight Yu Yevon that it's the last battle together, but nobody really thinks anything of it). Yuna tries to run after him and grab him, but she falls through him. At the front of the airship, Yuna stands and looks out. Tidus "wraps" his arms around her and then walks through her and jumps off the airship. When Tidus leaps off, you see him jumping and meeting a group composed of Braska, Jecht, and Auron.
You then see a scene where Yuna addresses all of Spira in the Luca Blitzball Stadium where she says everyone has lost people blah blah blah....
After the credits, there's a scene where you see some pyreflies floating through some water. You then see Tidus curled up in a ball wake up and swin towards the surface (the camera), there's a white light and the game ends.
Hopefully that helps.
If you need the FF X-2 ending, I can summarize that too
