ffdshow/ffmpeg for Vista

Problem: I'm trying to play back a video in encoded in WMV3. Sound is good, but the video is kind of like green infrared meets static. You can sort of make out the general shapes, but nothing more.

I figure all I need to do is update my codecs, but I don't know where to get newer ones.

I've been using the version of ffdshow from the sourceforge website. I use the alpha, which looks like it was last updated in 2004.

I've been trying to figure out where to download ffmpeg, but have had no luck. There's a bunch of stuff about SVN, which I think is linux related (I could be totally off point though).

Ideas?
