FF7 & Icewind Dale in Windows 2000

I would like to play some of my not-so-new games (FF7 and Icewind Dale as the title says) but as I run Win2000 and they refuse to run under a NT-based OS I have a problem. Is there any way to get them to work under 2000 as I'm too lazy to make a dual-boot right now.

Weird, on the box it says that Icewind Dale only supports Win95/98 and when I try to run it under 2000 it crashes, that's why I asked.

And FF7, the site has conflicting results, guess I'll have to try what some people have done to get it working and hope I'm lucky.

Thanks for the link btw.

I have played Icewind Dale with 2 expansion in Win2000 with no problems. Maybe, you have to play under an admin. account like some other games.

Hmm, what pacthes did you use? I've only got the original game though, no expansions. And I'm using an account with admin rights, or does it need to be the Administrator-account?

I'm using an admin group account when I play as well. The only other things I can suggest is make sure you have the latest DirectX, but if that does not work you can right click the run file and tell it to use Win95 or Win98 compatibility mode.
