FF XI

So, I realize this may get some bad reactions, but I've never played any FF games. I have, however, heard from many people that the new FF MMORPG doesn't really *require* prior knowledge...what do you guys think? I was originally intending to wait for WoW, but that looks like a while off. Should I get into FF XI even though it isn't really as meaningful to me as it is to other people who have been following the series since its inception?

none of the FFs are really that interrelated so you'll be ok if you want to try out FFXI

Yeah, some of them weren't even that good. Anyways this mmorpg is going to be very different from its predecessors anyways, I'd say go for it as long as you got the money and are willing to pay for it.

I'm new to MMORPG's - how is this one supposed to compare to the other ones that have been out? (EverQuest, AO, etc)

you'll be fine. you don't need any prior knowledge of FF. i like the game. it's fun. i'm on the Garuda server. my character name is Tonks.

it's fun so far.

Though I really have'nt gotten a chance to learn the apsects of the world just exploring around and levling up my charcter.

I've been playing UO for a few years now. I'm loathe to give up my home. Going to play Ultima X?
