So, I realize this may get some bad reactions, but I've never played any FF games. I have, however, heard from many people that the new FF MMORPG doesn't really *require* prior knowledge...what do you guys think? I was originally intending to wait for WoW, but that looks like a while off. Should I get into FF XI even though it isn't really as meaningful to me as it is to other people who have been following the series since its inception?

Yeah, some of them weren't even that good. Anyways this mmorpg is going to be very different from its predecessors anyways, I'd say go for it as long as you got the money and are willing to pay for it.
I'm new to MMORPG's - how is this one supposed to compare to the other ones that have been out? (EverQuest, AO, etc)
