The games dont feel quite right without him, do they? the music in 12 was horrid, i think, but still a great game

IMO, the greatest composer ever to touch the face of the earth, but im biased :)

You better watch yourself, i've killed men for less. ;)

But seriously, I think your way off base. 12 has some of the best music from ANY of the FF games, and the best since 7 I think.

He finished the work of Yasunori Mitsuda for Chrono Trigger & had some of the better songs from there. But FF isn't the same without Uematsu's work.

Nothing from 12 was memorable. I liked the boss/esper battle music, though... not like I could remember it.

It's too bad Uematsu's no longer employed by SE.

His work is good for video games, and alone. However, I havent heard much else by him to really judge him again Enino Morricone, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Klaus Baldet, Aaron Copeland, etc

Meh, I liked the soundtrack in FFT, which I forgot the names of the guys who did that. But that music just seemed a bit more epic to me.

I'm a huge Uematsu fan.

I discovered that a lot of his music seems to have been inspired by Erik Satie (IMO).

Haven't gotten to FF12 yet, but I'm very curious about its music
