/never even heard of Fez or that Indie game movie, just watched it and it seemed like the dev is kinda unstable.

I read this as it happened yesterday. Phil Fish is a douche bag and couldn't handle the crap that was getting thrown at him that he throws all the time. He has made many many shitty comments in the past and he wonders why he receives so much crap for it.

I refused to purchase Fez simply because of him.

Yeah, Fish is a bit of a strange bird, so who knows what is going on. If you want some insights on the guy, the documentary "Indie Game," which used to be on Netflix and might still be, is worth a watch.

I've heard of the game. A lot of people seem to really like it. Never heard of Phil Fish though. My first reaction was that it seemed rather unprofessional to cancel a game due to a twitter tiff. Lucky for him more companies are allowing indie devs to self publish. If I were a publisher, I'd run away from that guy as fast as my legs could take me.

Phil Fish is a huge, egotistical asshole.

He created yet ANOTHER derivative indie platformer + 1 gimmick, like we don't have enough of those already.
He used the super trendy 'retro' artstyle, like we haven't seen that enough.
He one the indie games festival, despite his game not even being out yet and the fact that he was on the board of judges.

Despite ALL of this, he still thinks he is hot shit and his game is one of the best in the world. Screw him, and screw his game.

I really hope he quits, but honestly hes probably just using this to go into hiding and make his game away from social media until he pops up a few years later with FEZ 2 in his hands.

Did you play it? The screenies don't really do it justice. Its one of the few times I've seen the whole 8-bit thing used to really good effect rather than just being obvious that they cheaped out on graphics.

I'm playing right now and thought exactly the opposite, especially about the audio. IMO something like Super Meat Boy did the simple art style properly, where as Fez just looks and sounds really lazy. It's an okay game that has no reason to look as bad as it does, and definitely shouldn't use commodore 64 era audio. I can get past the visuals as that's pretty much par for the course with indie games, but the audio is truly poor.

Watched some of the gameplay of the first one on Youtube (before getting stuck watching SF4 EVO videos for three hours; good lord) and it looks pretty cool. I think I may need to give it a try.
