Kidney stone not getting fixed. Need a real doctor, not the V.A. Which means insurance. Which means money. Which means a job.


For reference there is nobody hiring technicians in the greater DC area. Whenever a tech retires or moves on, they just have the leftover people work harder. When they lose enough bodies, they outsource to Asia.

I should also note that apparently there is a serious dearth of mid level management and upper level executives, if these job fairs are to be believed. Whenever you guys hear about one of them in the DC area, check it out. They are normally free and no advance notice required but parking can be a pain, so expect to hike if you arent in there early.
Its good to know whats available these days, even if you cant get hired at one of them.

They sure as hell are in northern Virginia. But its nice to social network. After passing out dozens of resumes there's the ever so slight possibility someone, somewhere will see it who needs to see it, and it may lead to a phone interview, which would be the best luck I've had in over a year. Last real interview was at least 18 months ago. I am in no position to leave stones un-turned.

I sold water purification systems door to door for about a month once...don't do it!!!

A buddy just went to the Stan doing computer work for a contractor. Unemployed for a year. He's got knowledge/skills but no certs/degrees (because he's slack). Good $$ but he's in a tent in the desert.
