Hi guys my friend has decided to build a new gaming pc. He has set his sights on getting 980 gfx card and has a few questions.

1.Do high end processors really benefit in gaming or he should save money by getting medium end processor.Which is a better processor for gaming Intel i7 4790k Processor or Intel 3.2 GHz Core i7-3930K .

2. How much power supply will be needed for gtx980 and is coolermaster a good brand .

Depends. If you want the best stock speed performance, with a single GPU, the i7-4790K will be better for the foreseeable future.

2. How much power supply will be needed for gtx980 and is coolermaster a good brand .
Depends on other details, and then it depends on the model of PSU. Cooler Master makes good PSUs and junk ones.

The 980 is the current money-is-no-object choice. If saving money matters at all look at a 970.

Generally I recommend the 4790K for its better single-threaded performance. But it depends on the game and it depends on how fast you're willing to overclock an LGA2011 processor.

2. How much power supply will be needed for gtx980
GTX 980s require relatively little power. Generally, a good brand 600W would be fine. Though if he gets the i7-3930K and overclocks it, I might bump that up to 750.

and is coolermaster a good brand
They vary between OK and poor. Good brands include Antec (sometimes), Corsair (usually), EVGA (frequently), SeaSonic, PC Power & Cooling, FSP Group, XFX, BeQuiet!, and Super Flower. But if there's a specific power supply you have in mind I'd Google for a JonnyGuru review. I'm sometimes surprised to find a diamond in the rough.

Any Z97 should work. For overclocking it's better to get one with a decent heat sink on the VRM.

If you want more information on this build, I suggest skipping the piecemeal questions and answering [thread=80121]these questions[/thread].
