Few questions, please answer them

As far as waiting for PCI-E 2.0, same answer as it was when people asked if AGP would be worth the wait: it depends. Note that it will be a long wait.

If the card doesn't fit THAT case, nVidia is in a lot of trouble...cuz it would mean their card won't fit in any case.

The mobo is a good choice, but if going SLI, the southbridge heatseak may block proper seating of the second card...dunno.
 
The 965p chipset doesn't have the SLi capability yet... perhaps a hack will be availably soon. If you're like me and needing to build a pc because your hardware is extremely outdated or don't have a pc currently, don't worry about pci-e 2.0. The dx10 cards wont be THAT much bigger than the current crop, maybe a little longer, but the 7950gx2 is pretty big and it fits into any atx case.
