Hi everybody!

SKIP TO BOTTOM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ THIS PART

My current system seems to be dying a moderately paced death. Here's what I'm looking at getting for a new system:

Athlon64 3500+ (939)
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
512MB or 1Ghz of Corsair Ballistix PC3200
Highpoint Rockethead 100 IDE to SATA adapter

I'm going to use the same Enlight case. It has 2 case fans. I'd like to use the same power supply if I can. It's the Enlight 340W P/S.

My other/current stuff is this:

Athlon XP 1800+ (stock speed)
Abit KR7A-RAID
256MB Mushkin CL2 PC2100
256MB PNY PC2100 (Best Buy cheapie stuff)
Maxtor 60GB ATA133 HD - 6 L060J3
Evga Geforce 6800 GT
SB Audigy 2 ZS
D-Link DFE-530TX+ 10/100 NIC card
LG 40X CD-ROM
LG 12/10/32 CD-RW/DVD-ROM

IF YOU SKIPPED ABOVE, START HERE PLEASE!

I'm a bit of a gamer and love playing FPS (Farcry, Doom3, HL2). I do the usual internet stuff, watch DVDs, and do some audio recording/editing. Considering that and the fact that the MSI board supports dual channel memory, should I get 512MB or 1Ghz of memory? How much memory are most people getting now?

Is the stock heatsink/fan good enough or should I get something better?

What are the safe operating temps of an A64 3500+?

I'd appreciate any advice, suggestions, knowledge. Thank you!

Bump AND

I spoke with a friend who just purchased the MSI K8T NEO-FISR2. This makes me feel much more comfortable with what I'm about to buy in a couple minutes. I'm going to go ahead and buy 1Ghz of memory (two 512MB chips). He bought a retail A64 3200+ and said the stock HSF does a really nice job, so I'll see how it does on my A64 3500+. Wish me luck! :)
