Can you go from a KT133 chipset to this board in winxp without reinstalling windows?
Anyone have issues with the Promise Ultra 100 TX2 on this board?

You *might* be able to do that with WinXP, but I dunno for sure. It's best just to re-install to be on the safe side.

i hear the "need a big PS" bull too much

ive got a K7S5A on a no name 250w psu
mind you i dont have many peripherals, but i dont think its power req's are any different than any other athlon mobo. maybe the first revesion or two had troubles, but mine is fine.

It is a decent PSU, but maybe not decent enough. Suppose I'll check, but why it would just not let the card detect the hard drive is beyond me.

I moved a Maxtor 60g drive from a MSI kt266 to this board without re-install.
It detected it in the BIOS and ran subsequently with no problem.

I upgraded from a crappy hp 6553 and I had to reinstall. Also i have a rev 1 and it's pretty picky with the psu. Definatley do not try to over clock without a good psu.
