Hi all,

I got a Centurino 534 (previous version) case from CM.
which i find quite good, however for the intake in front.
I cannot replace it. Becuase the harddrive case is stucked there.

Thesedays, i want to get a new case. CM 690 just a very ideal choice to me.
However, i want to confirm if the intake fan is still located in the front blowing the hardrives. is it able to be replaced?

can you put more than 1x12cm intake fans in front?
I have 3 harddrives. Is one 12cm fan(blowing sideway) enough according to CM690 design.

I see CM690 supports one 80mm fan on the back of the motherboard. Should it be a in or out fan?

The intake fan is attached to a plastick bracket that screws to the front of the case just behind the front bezel. You can see it here in one fo the shots form my CM 690 mod.

If you want a second fan you'll have to do some modding if you wanted mounted to the back side of the HDD cage. Not that the case needs it. If more intake is needed then place a fan in the bottom of the case. But there is plenty of airflow in the system.

The rear fan isn't an 80mm its a 120mm fan. As will most cases the rear fan should be exhaust.

Thank you for the input,
what i mean on the back of the motherboard, not the back of the case.
You can still see the grill from the second images you attached.
How much do you see it selling other than newegg?

See that thread for help on replacing/installing the front intake for the CM534.

And yes, the fans in the 590/690 cases can all be replaced. You need to be careful taking off the front bezel of the 690 though.

The thin 80mm fan on the back of the motherboard should be blowing in. However, I'm not using one on my E7200 computer with the CM590 and I don't think that it's actually necessary. Do note that area can only fit a 80x15mm fan.

I love my CM690 except for the cheap ass power/reset buttons. My reset button broke off after 3 days. Coolermaster is sending me a replacement (I think) :p. Be careful in putting on your front panel as the buttons might slide forward and snap off if you force it on. I suggest using tape to keep it in place when you put on the front panel

I know my HD4850 does fit in a CM590 perfectly well. Which card woud you happen to be referring to?

sorry i meant the upcoming hd4870x2 card. I am not sure how much longer it is than the hd4850 b/c I haven't seen either card. my guess is about an inch max. Do you think if your card was a bit longer it would still fit fine? thanks

There's another inch and a half before I hit my closest hard drive. Unless you're running 6 optical drives or something, you'll have space for it with no issues.
