few problems with windows when i start up

Hi there.

Just after some help please.

When I turn my computer on now, firstly I get a "Runtime Error from Microsoft Visual C++" .. it shows "Program: C:\Prog..."- "the application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

If I click OK, it says "Nitro PDF Printer Monitor has stopped working"

Then Windows Defenderr comes up sayin it cant connect for updates showing error code 80070490.

Im running Vista Ultimate by the way

Any ideas why? Many thanks
 
Did you inspect your run keys in the registry? Did you inspect the startup links in both the user and public profiles? Did you inspect your hosts file to make sure it hasn't been tampered with?
