How great of a show? I bought all the seasons earlier when it was on some Amazon GB deal in the past.

Same thing with The Wire.

Haven't had time to watch this and a couple other shows in the "queue" drawer. How high would you recommend it?

For me, the shield is a 'one of the greatest shows ever made' feeling while you watch it, but that fades after and it's pretty much a 'one time is enough' show. Still very good.

The Wire is the best TV show ever IMHO.

The Shield is different but also highly recommended. I almost wish I could "unwatch" it so I can watch it again. Perhaps in 5-10 years from now I'll watch it again. It's not as realistic as The Wire is, definitely more gritty and raw but what a ride it was.
