Few computer probs...

Well, one, this fan I have will not shut the hell up! It makes an annoying, scratching noise like something is touching it, and I dont have a clue what it would be, as I have checked and checked and NOTHING IS WRONG. Anyone know what the deal could be?

And, I just had my case open, and the monitor shut completely off. I restarted, and it was back, but what could be the prob there?

check for loose wires on the back of computer also check the card to make sure its secured properly for the monitor

add a drop of mineral oil for fan

For the fan:
Had a similar problem. In my case, I had blown into the fan while it was running with a can of compressed air. (bad idea ) Anyways, a little bit of oil might help. In my case, I had to remove the fan, as I seemed to have caused permanent damage to it.
For the video card:
This may be the obvious answer, but make sure the video card is sitting properly on the motherboard and secured properly to the case. Check the cable like Wolfsraider said. Also, might have just been a software problem. I don't know which OS you use, but I've had Xwindows crash on me in linux, in rather weird ways.
