I hope things have changed. My memory fails but was it McCarthy who had a running mate Dan something that had been treated for depression and he pulled out of the race. Names are the worst for me even before I got to this age.

My sense is that the path to compassion for self in Fetterman's case has been obstructed by unusually difficult obstacles beyond which most of us have to face. His mental well being is profoundly to be hoped for by millions of political people, and his failure also desired by many. A great barrier to mental health, in my opinion, is a need for it arising out of the ego. Unfortunately for him, his mental health is important in reality, not to just him personally. That adds to the stress, in my opinion. He is not really a nobody so surrender and acceptance is more difficult. I hope he finds inner peace.
