ferrari will have a strong car i think, last years was a bit wet, but i think ferrari will be awesome at the high revving V8. though cosworth apparently have the jump on everyone in the engine department, i believe ferrari have actually been testing a full car before anyone else.

mercedes should also be good at producing a worthwhile V8

Toyota actually had their 2006 car running since last month... they launched it last week.

I agree that Cosworth's V8 should be quite impressive. 54 more days...

Mercedes has no trouble building a fast car or getting a great driver - I think Raikkonnen is probably second only to Schumacher. Schumacher doesn't win because he's on harder tires and Raikkonnen doesn't win because his car always breaks down.

Merc just needs to build something reliable and Raikkonnen will win the series for them. That man is an amazing driver, its always sad to watch his car give up the ghost when he's way out ahead. Hell, I've seen him break down on the last lap when he's been way way out in front. Gotta be frustrating as hell.

There was talk about that... but they just announced that De Beers has gone on board as one of their sponsors so I guess the "all red" rumor is out. The car is probably going to look like how it runs during non-tobacco races.

Nice to see some F1 footage in the off season, now as long as V8s don't really ruin the sound of the cars I ugess things will work out OK.

only 52 days left ... looks good .. the nose looks different than some other images posted before ...i think ...

as far as Toyota .. their wins if any will always be tainted in my mind ... stealing ferrari software and aero ... toyota should be ashamed ... with that much budget and still cannot win ...

Meh its not enough to throw money at a problem. It takes a lotta talent to get an F1 team running. I bet the first $300-$400 Million went into facility setup alone, getting everything in place before salaries would have easily cost them $1 Billion.

Toyota has a new techincal wizz who has been working on this car for a year, I believe hes the same guy who worked on the last two Renault cars ie the top contendors for the past two years. Should be an interesting year for them, if they can keep up with the pace of F1 I'm expecting a win from them, though didn't they do something stupid and move to Bridgestone?

Seeing as how Michelin is set to leave after 2006, moving to Bridgestone would be beneficial for them in the long run. They're not aiming to win the championship this year yet, unlike McLaren or Renault, so staying on known tires this year isn't so critical for them.

Mike Gascoyne has been with the team for awhile now and they're slowly getting to the front. I wouldn't be surprised if they or Honda get a win this year.

Amazing rear packaging - though its partially to be expected with the new V8s. The rest of the car looks evolutionary, though a new front wing is said to be expected.

Ferrari and Honda are said to be in the best shape with their V8s. Mercedes unfortunately are not looking good.

Also- very interesting placement of the mirrors - better to see the rear tires or possibly better aero?

Well last year, Michael havd higher mirrors on one side of the car to keep track of his rear tire, but seeing how tire changes are back this year perhaps the placement is more for aero purposes?
