Even though I'm a Kimi Raikkonen fan it I congratulate Alonso and Renault on the job they've done this year.

Alonso's third place finish in the Brazilian Grand Prix today clinched his first World Drivers Championship.

Yup, congratulations indeed. Lets see if Mclaren can hold on to the constructors lead.

Is it just me or were there a lot more DNF's amongst the top 4 this year?

<---- Hopes Ferrari and Williams get their act together next year.

Not the race but Alonso clinched the World Drivers Championship today. He finished 3rd in the race which gave him enough of a points lead that his nearest rival, Kimi Raikkonen, was mathematically eliminated. Alonso could DNF the final 3 races of the year and still win the championship.

McLaren/Mercedes had a one two finish with Montoya on the top step of the podium.

Personally, I don't think the scoring system is very good. The difference between winning and finishing second is too close.

Congrats to Alonso! He drove a great season, always right there ready to pick up any scraps from McLaren. His battle wiht Schumi showed his talent as well.

I was a fan of Alonso since 2003, so I'm really happy that he won! At the same time, I think Kimi deserved the title as well.

I don't believe that McLaren deserves the Constructors though, they've messed up enough times this season. Renault had a reliable & fast car all season, if only Fisico was a little faster and more consistent, Renault would have clinched the Constructrors title as well.

Anyone notice that JPM is getting better every race as he gets more comfortable with the MP/20? Now that hte Drivers title is over, I'd like to see him battle it hard wiht Kimi in the remaining two races.

More like Kimi has been having a string of back luck qualifying results. He's had to move several positions down the grid on numerous occasions thanks to replaced engines, or tire changes.

JPM used to impress me back in CART, but the guy can be counted on to make stupid mistakes.

Next year should be interesting - the whole thing is going to get turned upside down.
