Looks like ATI has 3 x more shaders pipelines

How can nVidia compete with it ?

Latest spec is 512 shaders for Fermi, and ATI 5890 has 1500 shader pipes. What gives.

To compare a GTX260 has 216 core ,, GTX295 is 248 or something.

So Fermi is 500 thats double the performance, but ATI is 1500 ,, waaaahT gives

I think Fermi is in trouble, what yall think.

As pointed out below, you already posted this yesterday in another thread & were corrected by multiple members that it's incorrect. Yet, you chose to ignore those posts & make a new thread. -Admin DrPizza

hehe. No. It doesn't work like that.

Nvidia SP a lot different than ATI's SP.

In honesty ATI's 800SP is a little bit faster than Nvidia's 240SP when you compare it to last generation.

you know, i think that intel is in really big trouble, they only have 4 cores on their processors compared to the 1600 on those ati cards

ATI uses a series of "weak" and "strong" shaders something like 1 in 4 of every shader is a "strong" shader. While Nvidia uses all "strong" shaders.

Meh. Someone more technical can explain this better than me, for now these layman's can work :p

Can a moderator deal with this troll? He posted the exact same thing in another thread and received numerous replies and explanations but ignored them all. He's obviously posting nonsense just for the sake of getting a reaction. He knows that what he posted is nonsense.

Post 40.

I think nvidia is in deep trouble.

They first said the Fermi has 512 shaders. Soo well stick to that until otherwise notified.

The ATI 5890 has 1500 shaders. That is 3 times more shader. What does nvidia have to say about this. I think nvidia blew it!

You were responded to by numerous people and ignored them and created this thread. Which leads me to believe you're trolling or you're stupid.

Moron said this in another thread and was deservedly laughed out of it. Ban please. Wreckage too while we're at it.

Just because he was trolling in this thread doesn't make personal attacks allowed in the technical forums. -Admin DrPizza

Review the ATI 4xxx and 3xxx series architecture on Anandtech - they do a good job of explaining how Nvidia's shader cores are different from ATI's, and how you CANNOT directly compare them.

The ridiculous aspects of comparing ati to nvidia shaders aside...

There is no such thing as the 5890... and the 5870 already has 1600 shaders not 1500...

Face to palm.

Let me channel the best response from the other thread, provided by Ben90:

"Please leave a comment on newegg."

OP is complete troll/flame bait and knows it.

In fact for graphics purposes the shader cores of both nVidia and ATI are actually quite similar. Roughly speaking the slim cores(WXYZ units) of ATI are equivalent to what nVidia now calls CUDA cores while the fat cores(T units) of ATI are equivalent to nVidia SFU.

you posted this nonsense yesterday and at least 3 people corrected you. so now you start a thread today posting this crap? you dont seem to get through your head that they have completely different architectures. btw there is no 1500sp(that is not even possible) ATI card, there is no 5890 yet, and the gtx295 is 480sp(2x240) so please at least learn something instead posting nonsense.
