Actually, this advice is based on both history and Economics 101. The MSRP of the 5XXX series card has gone up since their release because of the lack of competition. Also, if you look back a year ago, nVidia was charging a premium on their GT 200 series stuff until ATI released their cheaper 4XXX series cards. Then nVidia had to lower their prices to keep in line with ATI on a price vs performance scale.This is just so wrong in so many ways . Did ya give that advice on NV overpriced products? What shouldn't AMD/ATI profit from their advanced tech .
ATI is currently taking advantage of their advanced tech AND the lack of competition. God bless both them and capitalism, but as a customer I like to see competition in the marketplace.
