Ferengi's note! SBC dealing on DSL rates.

OK, so times are tight, I'm tightening the budgets, belts, what-have-you's.
So I call SBC to drop the second phone line and move the DSL service to the main line.
Dude offers me DSL service at $28.00/month as opposed to the $49.00/month.
Then saves me another phone call and wait time to switch the Long distance to an unlimited toll / long distance for $20.00/month. Thus I dropped AT&T Long Distance with their fees which was OVER $20.00 not including the call time charges.
Sweet. Wish I had done this a month or 2 ago.....
If you have SBC DSL service and are paying the old $49.00/month rate, call them @ 888 884 2375* and work it.

Did mine for my parents a while ago. Got offered $24/a month for 3 months, then $30/month for the remaining 9 months on the contract as well as $60 service credit.

SBC needs to bundle a package with local/long distance, DSL and Cingular wireless together. My parents are tempted to add a family wireless plan with Cingular.

Apparently they are! I was asked about Cingular, which sux in NO.Cal., but declined. I'm currently ok with my dual mode ATT service.
