I am gonna start playing guitar and i have some questions:
1. Can i used regular Fender amps and accssesories for a Fender Squier?
2. what kind of guitar would you reccomend since i am juss starting out?
3. Is a Fender Squier smaller than other guitars?

If I were you I would spend the extra bread to get a fender strat korean or mexican made rather than get a squier. You will sound better and it will actually have resale value. As far as amps, you can use anything you want really.

If practicing is all you'll be doing and you don't care about a nice thick, sweet sound, Pignose makes awesome practice amps. They're amll a i bleieve they run no more than $50. (They're small too....they have this cute little pig nose on the front that's like the volume, and stuff....and you can open it and carry stuff around inside....like a purse...and you can....oh, uh...yea...)

squire is a great guitar to practice and begin with, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

it's nice and light and it's standard all around. you won't be able to tell the difference in tone and sound anyway, specially when you're just using a practice amp.. i picked up a squire bullet and a peavey rage 158 last year and im still using it to play with..

i've jammed out with a couple friends on his upgraded fernandez and another friends gibson SG (beautiful) and a nice mexican strat, on killer amps, and i can still come home and practice/learn with my squire, cause i'm still not good enough :)

anyhow, my 2c

I have a Squire and like it a lot. Not the best guitar but I can't tell the difference. It's one of the ones from the company Fender bought out. It has the three pegs on each side of the tuner, unlike the standard strat.

I recommend Squiers. I don't see why people knock them, their quality control is close to the Mexican-made Fenders and for about $100 less. I own a Squier Affinity P-Bass and a Squier Standard Strat, and have a Squier Fat Tele on the way. True, there are some bad apples (as there are for any line of guitar), but you just have to play through them and find one you like. For your first guitar I'd recommend spending $50 more and get an Affinity Special instead of the Bullet (here's a link). GuitarTrader.com has it for $150 with free shipping.

Squiers are usually the same size as Fenders, sometimes a bit smaller. They tend to be heavier I think because they started using agathis (an Indonesian pine I believe) instead of alder on the Mexican Fenders. The main difference is the pickup quality, the Fenders have better stock pickups, but with the $100 you saved you can buy even better ones than the Fender stock.

For amps, don't get the lower end Squier or Fender amps (I believe it's called the Frontman). They sound pretty bad. I read a review this morning for an amp called the Kustom Tube 12, which has a tube preamp and a name-brand speaker (Celestion) for $100. I'd recommend looking at that, or maybe a Vox Pathfinder.
