Fender Pro 185

Some kid from my church seems to think I know a lot about guitars since I play (man, I fooled him) and he's looking at a Fender Pro 185. Anyone have any experiences w/ these things?

He found a Chinese Fender Strat for $650cdn (used) and the guy also has a Pro 185 for sale for a decent price.

I've never played through one but they don't look half bad (googled it). How much is he paying for it?

I think the guy wanted $400cdn or something.

The pro 185 is an old solid state amp, I prefer tube amps. But the prices you listed for the guitar is a ripoff. For $650 you can get a new American std strat

i dunno about getting a new American strat for ~$570, but you should tell him to at least get a new standard (mexican strat) for around $350.

Damn! your right! I haven't priced strats in a few years, the cheapest I see now is around $850us Just a few years ago I bought an AS aniversary edition for $600

But I agree the mexican strat for $350-400 would be better
