Just kidding, they're pushing regulations that would require corporate boards to be made up of at least 60% women.

Who gives a fuck? Personally, I'd say the quota should be for competent board members instead of women since most corporate boards are rubber stamps anyway. This just gives executives an actual legal justification for hiring even more board members who won't dare oppose them, or understand what the operations of the company whose matters they're voting on. In the end, if Europe wants to dilute their own talent pools with rules like this, I don't give a rats ass.

That's a fascinating article. I never realized that they had mandated quotas for women. But it seems strange that some countries, such as France which is quoted in the article, have quotas for women, but are extremely hostile to affirmative action programs for ethnic minorities. I wonder how they reconcile them.

95% of what's said about the left here is wrong or lies. I can't remember the other 5%.

Sometimes pervesely wrong.

95% of what's said here about the right here is wrong or lies. Guess who usually spews the wrong information about the right here in these forums?

The quotas that France have are nothing like what that article is making out. They aren't even legally binding until 2017 and companies who don't abide by them aren't actually punished anyway.

Craig has a tendency to overly dramaticize. I can't say if he lies or not as far too often he likes to post a wall of text that I just don't read. But the right on these forums posting on their own gives information about the right that is worse than any lie the left could make up. Craig literally couldn't imagine a lie about the right that would make them sound worse than the stuff they themselves post in here.

The problem with women in the coporate world is the same problem that women have in all work environments. When it comes to excelling in any field and advancing in that field, women work against each other more often than with each other.

When a man gets into some important post ands knows a couple of other guys who are good at what they do, he brings them with him. Women try to keep other women down. 10 years ago I heard this from a friend and didn't believe a word of it but after a bit of work experience, I've seen this time and again myself and have to agree with it.

One of the problems is when someone on the right (like myself) tries to say what someone on the left believes. The same applies when someone on the extreme left (like craig234) tries to say what the right believe.
I'd rather just have people say what they believe and not try to lie about what their opposition believes.
I'll admit to occasionally doing it myself.

The solution to the problem is to increase advertisement and outlet sales in the EU, and everyone will happy.

Europe is a shithole.
The EU and the euro is nothing but an attempt to try and be like the USA and have a unique currency for all its countrys.
Jeez if they really wanted to be like the US these euro countries should be more like the Czhech republic which refuses to join the EU and is much more pro american then other euro countries. And dont get me started on NATO.......

How is that equal? 60:40? Stupid Fem's.

While the article did have a sensationalist sentence to that effect ("...could result in..."), none of the actual facts that they presented backed that up. 40% was the biggest number that any politician or bill they mentioned proposed.

Even that quota makes me roll my eyes (what about small companies? If companies that cater to men must now have a board of 40% women, do companies that cater to women have to have a board of at least 40% men? etc, etc.), but it's not quite as crazy.

To think that the NY Times used to have a reputation for good journalism...
