Females of AT, need your opinion....

Would you allow a male, who you do not know, to watch you giving birth? He would be an EMT student and is there is learn. He would not participate, merely watch and observe what has to be done.

The reason I ask is because as an EMT-B, I am expected to be able to deliver a baby correctly. However, videos and books only go so far. I prefer real world experience when dealing with things of that nature. Your thoughts?

I would try to work that out through the hospital. Otherwise you might get maced.

Of course I would need to go through the hospital. However, the patient always has final say.

The hospital I work at allows it with consent of the women, of whom 9/10 don't mind. Hell, I'm an intern and I've seen more births than I ever cared to see. My stint assisting the OB/GYNs was not a fun one...

if you'd asked me on the way into the delivery room I probably wouldn't have cared.. I didn't much know any of those other people either!

I still have quite awhile before you can actually call me doctor. I'm just from a family of doctors and have been interning for case studies, knowledge, and minimum wage for 2 years. Plus all of the medical school required classes.
