Female ATX power supply plugs

I want to build extenstion cables for my ATX PSU, so I need to find female plugs for the 20 pin and 4 pin (square) connectors. Does anyone know where to find these? The male molex and floppy style plugs, as well as the male plugs, are easy to find, but not male for other two.

I have seen an extension cable for sale: http://www.directron.com/atxextension.html, so I know the part exists, I just can't find one. Also, I need to be able to build my own for the specific application I want to use this for, so just buying the extension from Directon is not really a realistic option.

I guess I got it backwards, I need the male apparently... The kind that plugs in to the mobo are easy to find. The one that would allow me to make an extension cable is the difficult end...

Hmmm... actually there appears to be a discrepancy... most sites eem to list the ones coming from the psu as male. Either way, if anyone knows where I can find the corresponding plug for the one on the psu to make an extension cable, it would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if this helps but here are the proper names for the connectors:

ATX 20/24 and 4 pin connectors - Molex Mini-Fit Jr. Molex Series numbers (Male header: 5566; Female receptacle: 5557)

It would be a waste of time to build your own ATX extender, just get a pre built one and the pin removal tool from Radio Schlock (you'll probably need one of those in any case) and rearrange the wiring to suit. DigiKey.com or Jameco.com probably has the connectors you are looking for, but they won't be cheap...
As far as the P4 just get some wire, solder and heat-shrink tubing and splice some wire into the middle of whatever length you need.
.bh.

And unlike some other forums, here you CAN edit/correct your thread title... Hint - Hint.

Yeah, I thought it was a little confusing also because if you look at the plastic connector coming from the power supply it looks like a male connector, but the actual male pins are on the motherboard side of the connection.

Anyway, the ones you're looking for do seem pretty hard to find. Do you have a Fry's in your area? They usually have a pretty big selection of connectors and stuff like that.

Or if you absolutely can't find them anywhere, then just find a place that sells an extension like you linked above for the cheapest price and rip the plastic connectors off those and use them. It's not very economical, but it'll give you what you need.

Just checked - mouser.com has them in all shapes and sizes.

Note that the pins and sockets are sold seperately from the receptacles and headers.

For the PSU type end you will need Sockets and receptacles, for the mobo-style end you will need pins and headers.

Thank you, this will probably help.
